Yoga calls us for many reasons

Your initial interest in yoga may be all about the physical body.  In the West, that is generally how we start a yoga practice.  In Kripalu Yoga lingo, that’s called building and strengthening the container of the body.

Often I hear people say they’d like to start a yoga practice but they don’t think they are flexible enough.   I invite you to adopt the mental flexibility that it’s ok to  start where you start, regardless of how physically flexible you are.

When I began, I showed up in a tee shirt and stretchy sweatpants.  I didn’t “look” like a yogini and I didn’t “dress” like a yogini.  I simply showed up and began learning to move in ways that could help dissipate tightness in my body and release stress from my mind – you can too!

I hold the intention that everyone can practice yoga and every body is welcome and celebrated in my studio!  So, come, and let’s enjoy the practice of gentle yoga together!
